Dextrins are starches that have been roasted by acid hydrolysis. It is produced and marketed according to roasting times and colors. It is used in chemistry, casting, textile, paper industries. Naturally, the leaves of many plants contain dextrins, which are formed from the hydrolysis of starch. There is constantly dextrin in onion roots and outer membranes, and in rice seed hulls. Dextrin is used as an adhesive in the textile, paper and foundry industries, as well as in the rubber and cosmetics industries.
